All schools of the church-except the Theological Academies in Budapest and Debrecen, as well as the Grammar School of the College in Debrecen have been organised since 1989 in reclaimed and recovered buildings. At present there are six kindergartens, 28 general (elementary) schools, 18 grammar schools, 14 colleges and 6 institutes for higher education. In addition to the two Theological Academies (Debrecen and Sárospatak) the Károli Gáspár Reformed University also includes the Theological Faculty, Faculties for Philology and Jurisprudence, as well as a teachers' training school. All these schools are functioning with 16,000 students.
